A passion for alleviating food insecurity

My passion for alleviating food insecurity began during my undergrad experience and it grew after watching the documentary “A Place at the Table”. I knew I was pursuing the right career field when I became excited to study for my nutrition exams.

I became aware of the Coordinated Program in Dietetics at Framingham State through coworkers who were FSU grads and spoke highly of the program. After meeting with Dr. Crosier, and understanding the cost savings associated with an FSU degree, I gained the confidence to apply.

My time at FSU was challenging but well-rounded. Upon graduating with my Masters in Dietetics, I passed my licensure exam and became a registered dietitian. I was able to begin working right away thanks to the strong relationships developed during my dietetic internship rotations.

My interest in community nutrition led me to The Greater Boston Food Bank, where I feel fulfilled and re-energized as the Manager of Nutrition. FSU set me up for success by providing me with the hard skills needed to feel confident serving many different types of populations. The well-rounded dietetics program shaped me into a successful dietitian with connections all throughout Massachusetts and New England.
